    Description

    Pre-WWI M1852 Prussian Infantry Officers Train Battalion Sword with Scabbard and Trodell. Ricasso is unmarked. The guard and grip are tight. The sharkskin grip is 95% complete. The leather finger loop is mostly complete, it has just 1 small tear by the grip. The beautifully etched blued and gilded blade is straight, tight, unsharpened, the tip is a little sharp, no nicks, and has some small spots of gold loss mainly by the tip area. One side of the blade has "Hannou. Train Bataillon No 10" and the reverse looks like "Bur Grinnerung an meine Dienftzeit". The black scabbard is solid with a couple dings, some light scratches, and small scattered paint loss spots. Washer is intact. Length of the blade measures 30 1/2" (1" wide x 3/16" thick spine), length of the sword is 38", and overall in the scabbard it is 39 1/8".
