WWI German M1884 / 98 original Seitengewehr Bayonet II Pattern 1917 Very Good

Description

A Very good example of the Imperial WWI German Model 1884 / 98 original Mauser Bayonet 2nd Pattern(with muzzle flash protector) . This particular Bayonet is dated 1917 ( see Pics ) .
The blade is bright steel and in very good condition( lightly sharpened) . Marked for JA Henkels Zwillingswerk (twins) . Imperial markings are clear and all stamping is correct.
This particular Bayonet has an imperial marked Scabbard .( see frog lug ) .
Many examples do not have this marking present . There is a small crack in the wooden grip please see pics .Half of the scabbard has some polishing,this is from the normal wear from the leather frog.
Please carefully inspect all pictures as these form part of the description.
The original WW1 leather frog is present but
not in good condition and the fibers are deteriorating .
This wonderful example of this iconic imperial German Bayonet has it all. From the Bright Fullered blade in very good condition , to the period correct clear markings on
