Description
You are bidding on an EXTREMELEY RARE example of a WW1 Germany Imperial ArmyExtra-Seitengewehr (Ks98) Bayonet and
Scabbard! This is a VERY SCARCE variant, with only 7 examples known to exist!
The
Central Fuller Extra-Seitengewehr (Ks98) and the smaller Boot Knife/Trench Knife version was both used during the WWI and the Weimar Republic eras. Both feature a center fuller blade and are double-edged. The press/release buttons on the pommel are non-functional.
Made of bakelite and steel, this WW1 German
Extra-Seitengewehr (Ks98)
Bayonet and scabbard are VERY RARE! There are some slight marks and wear...as well as some stains/corrosion from storage, but quite solid overall. Though a bit long, the scabbard is original to this knife, and too does feature some marks and wear. No manufacture logo, which is typical for this type of blade. One bakelite grip is broken and you can see in the photos, but it could be replaced if one wished. Though little information is known on this variant, the K98 Forums do discuss this in more detail. With only 7 examples known to exist, it w
ould make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!

------------------- ABOUT ME -----------------
Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
