The radio works on both bands with a straight antenna and all segments and top cap. The cassette
mechanically
works but is not functionally working: the hubs turn when pressed on Play, Rewind & Fast Forward; HOWEVER, it plays slowly and needs servicing. Since it goes slower, if you record on it presently, it sounds fine if played back on the same deck. Counter works as well. Built-in speaker with mono audio though headphones as well.
Vintage rare Japanese market issue 1984 Sony WA-11 Fm-Am “Cassette-Corder” Cassette Player & Recorder in good, looking and
semi-working condition. Some WA-11 models are badged Soundabout but I believe this is a rare Japan issue model: there are Japanese characters on the bottom, the FM band starts at 76MHz and though a 2 band radio, it has a TV band printed on the dial. Sourced in San Francisco, so that makes sense as well.
It’s in good cosmetic condition showing expected scuffs from normal use over the 40 years. Battery holder had some past leakage but it has been cleaned up and all contacts & contact springs are intact. Sold as-is, as found with no returns or partial refunds, but guaranteed to be as shown & described. Nice vintage portable Walkman style cassette for your collection, but selling for parts/repair for display, repair or prop.
