The exterior of the ball features a soft composition cover which offers more comfort than most tetherballs. The ultra soft touch makes it sting-free when serving or hitting the ball. Its constructed with nylon windings and a two-ply heavy duty bladder for greater air retention. The bladder is made of butyl rubber which provides a tough, airtight inner compartment. This helps the Soft Touch Tetherball keep its shape, while also maintaining its softness.
Butyl rubber is impermeable to air. It is used in many applications requiring airtight rubber.
A tetherball pole is ten-feet tall and two inches in diameter. The pole is typically made from steel.
The distance between the hanging ball and the ground should be about 2 feet.
A ten foot circle around the pole marks the boundaries.
The first serve is decided by a coin flip.
