Vintage Spanish .915 Silver Insect Coin Caddy? 3.1 Ounces.

Not exactly sure what this was meant to be. Looks like a beetle but may be a frog.  Don't know for sure but I believe this was made in Spain. It has two touchmarks on it's head. One is a five pointed star which designates .915 silver in Spain and the other is a B which may be for the Barcelona assay office. There also is the numbers 310 above the B.  I may be wrong on this I do not guarantee it.
The top half slides open revealing a compartment for coins or other items. 5" long, 2 3/4" wide and 2" tall. Weighs 3.1 ounces.
This is in very good condition except the one ball in the front has some dents and moves around on it's metal cord. A touch of solder would fix this easily. Still sits ok the way it is though. Whatever this is it is unusual.
