Vintage ITALIAN 800 Silver Mounted Glass FLIP-TOP SUGAR BOWL w/SPOON-NR

Description

Up for bid is a vintage Italian 800 silver mounted glass lidded sugar bowl with spoon.  The piece is 6 inches tall by 4 1/2 inches wide.  The wide clear glass base has etched and cut floral swag decoration and a flat bottom.   It has an applied silver rim with a swing handle with a curved wire attachment to the lid front.  The lid is hinged at the back, and the handle swings back and forth to raise and lower the lid.  The handle and lid have scroll decoration, and there is a cutout in the lid edge for a spoon.  The rim is marked “800” with a partial Italian maker mark, and the 5 1/8 inch spoon is marked “800” with a trademark of some kind.
Condition on the piece is fairly good.  The lid is a bit twisted, so it does not sit perfectly on the rim when closed.  There is some stubborn tarnish as well.  A pretty old Italian sugar bowl.
