VINTAGE 11 1/4 " REPOUSSE .833 SILVER PORTUGUESE DECORATIVE PLAQUE/ SHALLOW BOWL

Description

We are offering a thin vintage ( perhaps antique ) Plaque or shallow Bowl produced in Portugal of repousse .833 Silver in deep relief. The decorative scrolling motif with shells is impressive in it's attention to detail. It measures about 11 1/4 " in diameter ( the Plaque is not perfectly round, therefore some measurements are slightly smaller or larger depending upon where they were taken ) and sits about 5/8 " high. The weight is a shade over 6 Oz. This Plaque has 2 separate Touch Marks, one being an Eagle next to a partial designation for its Silver purity " 33 " ( ? ) as only 2 of the 3 numbers were struck. We believe the complete number should have been " .833 ", but at the left side of the mark the strike was too shallow to produce the " 8 ". The other Touch
Mark appears to be a Windmill within concentric circles, which either denotes a Town Mark or a Maker's Mark. We've listed 3 Photos of these marks in order to, hopefully, produce a decent image among them for reference. Condition is Very Good with only minor wear here and there that is consistent with age and handling. We've elected not to polish this piece. It displays very nicely.
