    Description

    Welcome to
    Antiques & Moore!
This listing is for an unusual Continental Silver pedestal salt cellar made like a shell shaped floating vessel with a young cherub looking mermaid on the front end. The cherub is holding a paddle type object in his outstretched hand. The silver appears to be .800 silver, however, we did not find any marks although Continental marks are tiny and they could have been overlooked. The salt is entirely covered with embossed decoration and it would definitely enhance any salt cellar collection. We believe it will date to the last quarter of the 19th Century.
Measures 3 1/2" high (to top of cherub's head), 3" long and 1 3/4" wide.  Weighs 100 grams.
This nice salt cellar is in very good to excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws.
