    Description

Presented is a superb set of 12 Italian 800 silver dinner knives. This is a
relatively modern set, made in the past 30 years or so. The set is done in a
pattern that looks identical to the Empire pattern by Buccellati, with a
classical egg and dart motif and shell designs at the end of the handle. The
knives have stainless steel blades, very sharp and useable.
Each knife is hallmarked on one side of the handle with 800 for the purity of
the silver, an Italian government registered maker's mark of 100 next to PD, the
abbreviation for Padova (Padua) and a maker's mark of G inside a diamond, which
we unfortunately do not recognize. The other side of each handle has a mark of R
for 'riempito' meaning filled, and 25-30g for the weight of the silver. The
blades are marked with the same G maker's mark and 'Inox' for unrustable, or
    stainless steel.
This set is in excellent overall condition. The details of the pattern are
sharp and crisp. One knife has a very tiny ding to its handle, possibly just
from being moved around or stored with other silver pieces, as the set looks
unused. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no cracks, no monograms, no
    monogram removals, and no repairs.
Each knife is about 9 3/4 inches long.
