    Description

Presented is a wonderful Dutch silver spoon. We believe this spoon dates to around the mid 1600s, though it could be as late as the mid 1700s. The handle of the spoon is done in an interesting upturned paw design. The back of the spoon has an old monogram of 'IH' or maybe 'HI'. This is quite an old piece, in great shape for its age, and certainly not something that would be easy to find again.
The reverse of the bowl is hallmarked with a rampant lion guaranteeing .875 silver purity and the city mark for Amsterdam.
This piece is in good overall condition. There is some surface irregularity, and a split to the bowl, but nothing excessive or inconsistent with age. There are no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The spoon is approximately 6 3/4 inches long.
This piece weighs 43.9 grams or 1.5 regular ounces.
