Antique WW1 German G98 SG 1898/05 Butcher bayonet with scabbard, made by Anker-Werke Bielefeld. Stamped on Steel pommel with very rare Saxon marking, crown over FA.
Steel pommel with locking catch stamped FA/07," under the crown (king Friedrich August III.) Saxony. Throat of the steel scabbard stamped with inspection marking
Slab wood grips with 9 grooves, held by round grip-bolts and nuts. Single fullered blade, swelling towards tip. Ricasso marked” ANKER WERKE BIELEFELD”

Overall length of the bayonet in the scabbard: 51.5 cm (20.28 inches)
Overall Length without the scabbard: 50 cm (19.61 inches)
Blade Length: 37 cm (14.51 inches)
CONDITION: Showing the age and usage, slightly pitted overall. The release button works fine, scabbard and the grip back strap with minor dents.
