Rare Antique European Sterling Silver & Ebony Wood Composer / Conductor's Staff
This stunning staff was hand made in Central Europe, probably in Austria or Germany, in the 19th Century. It features a hand carved ebony wood staff adorned with an engraved Silver cylinder on one end and and a highly ornate Silver finial on the other. The staff was likely presented to a conductor or composer at the occasion of a great achievement or for retirement.
The piece is in good antique condition with some patina according to age (can be polished away if desired). The engraved end is a little loose and can be glued back to the staff if desired.
This decorative piece measures 14 1/2" long and weighs
approx. 200 grams. Tested for at least 800 (80%) Silver and stamped with an unidentified makers mark (see pictures).
