This is a fine 3 pieces sterling  silver  925 soup tureen that is Portugese and comes with top and matching round tray.It is fully stamped of the birds and number 925 beside that and also factory stamp that is hard to read.The city that is made is Oporto Portugal.The stamps on the tureen bottom  and tray top reads:PORTUGAL-bird with number 916 -0,925.The round tray measures about:14 3/8" and it weighs:1168 grams or:37.570 troy ounces.The tureen top diameter is: 8 7/8" with the high of:4 5/8" and it weighs:629.9 grams or 20.255 troy ounces.The total weight is:2932 grams 0r 94.265 troy ounces.The tureen alone diameter is:9 1/4" and from handle to handle is:14 5/8" and it sits on 4 paws feet..This piece belongs to circa 1938 and is in excellent condition for the age.The hand-chased piece has gorgeous  floral design all over  with leaves and fruit design on  tureen lid.
