    Description

    For sale is an unusual antique silver asparagus serving tongs with marks of the Kingdom of Naples.  The piece is 9 7/8 inches long and weighs 144 grams.  The piece has a wide spoon shaped arm on top and a narrow ribbed arm beneath.  The top arm has an engraved crest of a barbarian with the Latin motto “SI JE PUIS”.  The tongs are marked with a bust and N8 in a square with another indistinct mark.  They are solid silver.
    Condition on the tongs is good.  There is a small nick on one edge and normal wear of age.  An interesting pair of asparagus tongs!
