    Description

    Presented is an interesting South American silver pitcher or jug. This piece dates to around the 1940s-1950s, and is likely of Peruvian or Colombian make. The piece is undoubtedly South American, based both on the design and its provenance as part of a collection belonging to a former diplomat to Peru and Colombia. The pitcher has a very striking design, with various Incan style geometric designs and patterns. The majority of the surface has a fine, pebbled hand hammered finish, while the band of decoration around the center is done against a diagonal stippled finish. The piece is quite clean, inside and out, and looks very impressive on display. The pitcher has a capacity of 12 cups (96 ounces or 2.8 liters).
    This piece is in excellent condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
    The underside of the pitcher is stamped with a maker's mark and 0,900 for the purity of the silver.
    The pitcher stands about 7 5/8 inches tall at the highest point of the handle.
    The pitcher weighs 808 grams or 28.5 regular ounces.
