    Description

THIS IS A LOVELY CA. 1840’S SILVER BOWL WITH A 1780 MARIA THERESA THALER RESTRIKE AS ITS CENTER . THIS HAS NO HALLMARKS WHICH IS COMMON FOR THIS TIME PERIOD IN SOME COUNTRIES IT TESTS AS PURE SILVER . THE SMALL BOWL COULD BE USED FOR NUTS , CHOCOLATES , CANDY OR EVEN AN ASHTRAY . IT IS QUITE HEAVY . IT MEASURES 3 1/2” WIDE BY SLIGHTLY LESS THAN 1” TALL
PLEASE BE WARY OF SELLERS CLAIMING TO HAVE ORIGINAL THALERS . MOST ARE RESTRIKES OF THE 1780 THALER AS THE MOLDS WERE USED FOR ALMOST 200 YEARS TO REPRODUCE THIS COIN . I CAN GIVE MINE AN AGE FRAME SIMPLY BECAUSE OF THE REST OF THE BOWL AND THE DESIGN INVOLVED . THERE IS A SOTE THAT SHOWS THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE ORIGINALS AND THE RESTRIKES .
PLEASE STUDY THE PHOTOS CAREFULLY AS THEY TELL THE WHOLE STORY.
