    Description

Presented is an impressive antique continental European silver four arm candelabra.  The candelabra is very finely wrought in 800 purity silver.  The base and the lower part of the shaft are ornamented with highly detailed raised shells, scrolls, clusters of grapes and leaves.  The decoration is really nicely worked.  The candle holders on the four arms and the center shaft are each fitted with a removable bobeche.  The candle holders and wax drips can be disassembled, and the top piece can be unscrewed from the central shaft as well.  This piece was likely made in the 1840s through the 1870s.
We will very likely ship this disassembled!  It is very easy to reassemble, even if you are not mechanically inclined.
I can find no hallmarks on this piece.  We have tested it with nitric acid and guarantee it to be at least 800 purity silver.  This candelabra was almost certainly made in Austria, Germany or perhaps Italy.
The condition is excellent.  Some of the candle holders screw into place more securely than others, but everything is useable.  There are no dents, no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals, no breaks, and no repairs.
The candelabra measures 6 inches square at the base.  The width across the arms is 14 1/2 inches.  The height is 24 inches.
The weight is 1910 grams or 66.9 ounces.  There is no weighting. All of this weight is silver!
