Marantz PMD-222 3 head portable Cassette Recorder Read Dscrptn Tape Belt Prblm.
This cassette recorder powers on and everything was working, but the tapes won’t play, I’m not certain but I think the belt or belts need to be replaced. Also several years ago, the deck fell off a table with the power cord plugged in, and it landed on the power cord side and had some damage to the power jack on the deck. I had to open the deck and re-solder the power plug jack on the motherboard (which also had a small crack next to the power jack) and I put some superglue around the power jack input… I was able to fix it and it worked fine after that. But I haven’t used it for about 5 years now… and now the tapes won’t play.
Buy it knowing you’ll need to replace the belts, assuming that’s the issue. Or buy it for parts.
