Description
JESUS, I TRUST IN YOU!Hi. For auction is what may be a Jenny Lind Red Doll Trunk with Key (not working) - 1862. I am guessing the trunk is from the Victorian era as there is a hand written date of 1862 on the bottom if the trunk. I am not sure if that date, or the name, was written in 1862, or at a later time. I am also guessing this is a Jenny Lind type of trunk based on online research. Please use your own judgment as to the age and type of trunk. The size is roughly 10"x7"x7". I measured using my pictures, so the size is a guesstimate.
UPDATE: The key that comes with the trunk may or may not be original. It does seem to fit the lock, but the lock does not open and close. The key and / or lock may be stripped as the key continues to turn around when trying to open or close the lock (turning the key both way). Though, the key does make a clicking sound when turning around, so that tell me the lock just may be stuck. I vaguely remember trying to fix the lock, and may have even put wd-40 inside. Perhaps some of the parts to the lock are missing. The lock is coming off of the trunk. The trunk has a lot of wear. There is missing leather, probably a missing tray ( or two or three? ), the inside back part of the trunk has fallen apart, there is discoloring, a vintage smell, dings, scratches, marks, water stains,
rust, corrosion,
stains, dirt, dust, missing parts and ties, etc. There are some small fragments of pieces that I will be including in a plastic bag. They are not pictured as I reached my picture limit. There is missing and / or damaged parts not mentioned OR PHOTOGRAPHED. Please see images for best condition description and feel free to ask questions. If you need additional images, please let me know. Free return shipping if buyer is not happy.
Thank you for your interest.
