    Description

    Presented is an antique silver box made during the early 1800s. This piece has
    pseudo-English hallmarks and is either Chinese export silver, Australian or Cape
    silver. The box is very well made and the hinge and lid are tight. There is a
    monogram of the initials MCE, which was clearly added to the box later than
    original production, most likely during the 20th century.

    This piece is in fantastic condition. There is some dust visible in the
    photographs, obviously this is not a problem and has since been wiped away.
    There are no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monogram removals and no repairs.
    The box measures 4 1/4 by 3 1/8 inches, is 1 3/8 inches tall and weighs 222
    grams or 7.8 ounces.
