Description
Great Antique 19th Century European 750 Silver & Onyx Bead Filigree RosaryThis stunning rosary was hand made in Europe, probably in Germany, in the first half of the 19th Century around the 1830s and features a simple 750 Silver crucifix which is attached to a filigree silver cross which forms the end of a necklace made from hand cut black Onyx beads and filigree Silver beads. The piece is in very good antique condition with some patina according to age. Some of the Onyx beads have small chips.
This gorgeous antique piece measures approx. 1 3/4" long (cross) / 18" long (whole piece) and weighs
approx. 26 grams. The cross is stamped with an ancient German "12 loth" hallmark and an unidentified makers mark just below the bale loop with "12 loth" corresponding to 750 (75%) silver.
Very unusual and beautiful antique piece!
