This Tiny Tears is a darling! I've had her for many years, and even my non-doll-loving friends remark to me about how cute she is. Please look at all my photos, as they are part of the description of this item. She comes from a smoke-free home. We do have a cat, but he is not allowed in the doll room, nor does he want to go in.
The main thing about this Tiny Tears is that her rubber body is about as perfect as it gets for being from the early 1950's: All fingers are original & intact. Her caracul wig is beautiful and full, with very little glue showing near her face. She does have a thin crack at the back of her knee, which could easily be repaired with that special glue, which I believe might be E-2000. Her facial expression is cunning, and her complexion is clear, with nice color to her cheeks, lips, and eyebrows. Her blue eyes look straight ahead, with no cockeyed look to them. (They are the older type of eyes, not the rock-a-by eyes) 0. Also, Tiny needs a bath, as her rubber is dingy-looking. Many collectors put oil on rubber to preserve it, but I have not done that. I will leave these issues up to her new Mommy to resolve since, with a delicate vintage doll, special care needs to be taken in something as simple as cleaning. Oh, and she does not squeak.
Tiny comes wearing her original pink and white cotton dress (no missing buttons), a birds-eye cotton diaper, a lace-trimmed cotton bonnet, and cotton thread-crocheted booties. Also included with her are a vintage flannel bunting, old-fashioned plastic rubber pants, and vintage cotton "big girl" panties for when she graduates from her diaper. The dress could use a little mending to join a bit of lace to the bodice at the neckline and left sleeve.
