    Description

Up for bid is a fine little Dutch silver cream pitcher with repousse chasing, dated 1901. The piece is about 1 7/8 inches tall and is about 4 1/8 inches wide from spout to handle tip.  It weighs 63 grams.  It has a bellied form with a sharply pointed spout and a double c-scroll handle with a head-shaped thumbpiece.  The sides are finely repousse chased with farm scenes and four different birds in scrolling surrounds.  The piece has never been monogrammed.  The piece is marked on the base with a Dutch 833 standard mark with an impinging key for export and a small oval maker’s mark.  It is marked on the side of the spout with a date letter for 1901.
Condition on the piece is very good.  There are a few stubborn spots and normal signs of use.  The interior is clean.  A very fine sterling creamer!
