Presented is a fabulous quality silver box. The box dates to the mid 1800s, and
is probably of continental European origin. The box is quite well made from
heavy gauge silver, very sturdy and weighty. The lid and sides of the box are
finely hand engraved with elegant foliate designs. The lid and base have a
raised gadrooned border. The lid has a blank cartouche, perfect for a monogram
of your choice.
The box is in great condition. The details of the designs are quite crisp.
The lid closes well and the hinge of the lid is in good shape. There are no
splits, no dents, no breaks, and no repairs.
