Antique silver snuff box made in Linz, Austria during the Austro Hungarian Empire circa 1860… Guilloche decoration with central hand engraved reserved without monogram to both sides...please note a nice detail…both are different. It is fully hallmarked with ‘B’ for Linz Silver mark inside a shield with the year ‘18…2’ (partially rubbed) and shows the silversmith’s mark ‘I HK’. It measures 2” long, 1 3/8” wide by 7/16” thick. It weighs 34.5 grams. The silverwork shows signs of use and time…dings here and there and scratches, shown in pictures. Its interior still has its original gold gilding ‘Vermeil’. The hinge mechanism is in very good working order so the lid closes tightly.
