FINE ANTIQUE ORIENTAL SILVER SUGAR AND CREAMER SET.
India, circa late 19th - early 20th century.
Most likely made for western market.
Outstanding hand chased decoration: tiger, lion, elephant and other animals.
Finest quality chasing and engraving, superb crisp realistic details.
Lightly gold gilded interior.
Unmarked - guaranteed solid silver, 900/1000 silver standard (lower than sterling).
Size:
Creamer is about 3 1/4 in. (8.3 cm) high and 5 5/8 in. (14.3 cm) wide from handle to spout.
Sugar bowl is 3 1/4 in. (8.3 cm) high and 6 1/8 in. (15.6 cm) wide at the handles.
Weight:
Total silver weight is about 8 troy oz. (251 grams) - good weight for the size.
Condition:
Very good original antique condition with light handling marks and minor charming indication of age.
Hand chased decoration with crisp details - was never polished on polishing wheel.
No repairs.
