Antique hand made sterling silver bowl or standing cup from a local Dallas estate with h
eavy repousse decoration allover.
Certainly European based on the materials and the aesthetic and probably Dutch second grade sterling (83.3% silver) based on the Lion mark (pics #8, #9, and #10), the other mark is too worn to read.
Guaranteed antique and I would date it pre-1850.
Measures about 7" across the handles and about 3" tall and it is heavy for its size at about 6 regular (not troy) ounces on my home postal scale. Please also see tape measure pics.
Excellent antique condition. Normal irregularities and imperfections associated with it being a 100% hand made piece, but no actual damage of any sort. No pings, dings, dents, or disfiguring scratches. Stands straight and true on the tabletop, not crooked or wobbly. No monograms or removals. All the parts tight and secure with nothing loose.
