833 SILVER
VIOLIN PLAYER
FIGURAL PEOPLE
MENU HOLDER / PLACE CARD HOLDER.
This is a fine old piece of Antique Dutch Silver for the Dinner Table!
Solid 833 Silver.
Made in the Netherlands / Holland.
The piece is marked with the small Dutch Sword Mark on the base indicating that it is 833 Silver (83.3% Silver Purity - the old Dutch standard which is less than 925 Sterling Silver). This mark is very small and it is hard to see.
The base is also marked with a maker's mark that we haven't identified.
An Antique Estate Piece. We are unsure of its exact age.
It depicts a Man playing the Violin or Fiddle. Another man is standing and facing him.
Wonderful detail.
As shown, a small card easily slips just behind the figure (probably either a Place Card Holder or Small Menu.)
