    Description

Presented is a wonderful European 800 purity silver pierced serving spoon, dating to around 1890-1925. We believe this piece was made in Switzerland or surrounding areas, but we aren't sure. The bowl of the spoon is decoratively pierced in an intricate, eye-catching design, while the handle is done in a classical round-tipped pattern. The handle is finely engraved on both sides with armorial crests, on one side a griffin rampant in a scroll-edged shield and on the other side a shield topped by a demi-unicorn rampant.
This piece is in great condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The spoon is stamped 800 for the purity of the silver, as well as what is likely a maker or retailer's mark of W. Speiser and a shield shaped stamp that is likely a city mark.
The spoon is about 11 1/8 inches long.
This piece weighs 117.5 grams or 4.1 regular ounces.
