    Description

Presented is an antique, continental European berry strainer or pierced serving ladle made during the mid 19th century. This piece is most likely German in origin and it was made between the 1840s and the 1870s. The back of the handle has an old, pin-prick monogram of the name J Brunswig 1874 (the monogram was added at a much later date after original production). The pierced bowl is done in a decorative, ruffled form and has a light gold wash.
The back of the handle bears a maker's hallmark. This piece is guaranteed to be at least 800 purity silver.
This piece is in great overall condition for its age. There is wear to the gold wash on the bowl, as you can see in the photographs.
    Length: 7 1/2 inches.
Weight: 31 grams or 1.1 ounces.
