Antique Austrian/Hanau 800 Silver Scenic Repousse Snuff Box

Description

This is a beautiful antique Austrian or Hanau 800 silver snuff box. The lid is decorated with a classical scene with woman playing instruments. The sides of the box are decorated with scrolls, flowers and a small cherub. The box measures 3 1/4" by 2 1/2" by 1 5/8" tall. It weighs 107.9 grams. The piece is hallmarked with an Austrian silver mark for 1806 and a maker mark IC. I'm not sure if this is a true early 19th century mark or a later 19th century German Hanau pseudo mark. The box has a gold wash inside. You will be pleased.
