ANTIQUE 19TH C. AUSTRIAN ETCHED & ENGINE TURNED SILVER SNUFF/TRINKET POCKET BOX

Description

A beautiful antique Austrian silver snuff or trinket pocket box. Exterior features ornate etched and engine turned detailing. Interior is gold washed. Measures approx. .5"h x 3"l x 2"w, weighs approx. 67g/2.3oz. Displays general surface wear consistent with age, including tarnish, surface scratches, and some tiny dings in the silver (particularly along the box edges), the cartouche on the box's side also appears to have had a monogram polished out - see pictures. Stamped on inside of case twice with "JAH" mark (perhaps maker hallmark?) and twice with partial faint Habsburg coat-of-arms mark (appears to be the 1807-1866 variation). A gorgeous piece of antique silver!
