ANTIQUE DUTCH NETHERLANDS HOLLAND 833 SILVER FIGURAL MOVING WINDMILL TEA STRAINER BY L. MARCELIS, SCHOONHOVEN
The tea strainer has a working windmill on the top of the handle and landscape and seascape scenes on the edges of the pierced and chased
strainer. Marked with the Single Sword Mark and Minerva Head with "M" (Schoonhoven assay office) on the handle.
Stamped: with Lion Passant mark with a number "2" (833 silver purity or
standard
) and makers name "LM3" (L. Marcelis, Schoonhoven 1922-1937).
Also another stamp which I couldn't decipher on the inside the strainer.
The tea strainer measures about 5 7/8" long and 3 3/8" in diameter. Total weight is 49 grams.
It is in good condition with slight surface wear. It is a vintage piece and needs professional polishing.
