Description

NEW LOWERED RESERVE!! Last bidders came SO close!
1972 Oldsmobile 442 - Great condition! Southern car just brought up this spring.
TH400
A/T, 455 &
12 bolt rear end with anti-sway bar
.
1972 was the first year that Olds did not offer the 442 as a performance option from the factory, it was only a trim and handling package.
This is not a trailer queen show car, it's a driver and a fun one at that!
Car is a "J" code
and originally came with 350 but was converted over with a rebuilt period correct 455. Can you say TORQUE? This car has it, it's a blast to drive and runs very reliably. I wouldn't hesitate to take this car on day trips anywhere. After warming up on a hot day, car stays at 190F - NO overheating issues. Carb is missing the the choke plate, plate shaft, and choke lever, but I don't take it out in inclement or cold weather anyway so just two pumps on the accelerator pedal and she fires right up - a very easy and cheap upgrade/repair if wanted. Gas gauge does NOT work - I just add gas every couple trips out - I just didn't feel like tearing into dashboard -
(likely a grounding issue)
. I did replace the ignition cylinder with actual AC Delco "GM" key and cylinder. New halogen headlights with LED "ring" running lights. New LED brake/tail lights. New tail light lenses at all 4 spots. New turn signal switch and low voltage flasher for LED lighting. I would say paint is a 8 out of 10 and when driving around, this car gets the looks and finger points more so than the new Camaros and Challengers all because of the fact these cars are so rare compared to the over abundance of modern muscle.
Car has A/C but currently does NOT blow cold - Likely a simple recharge, but I drive in evenings after work and I like the windows down anyway.
Still a lot of summer left to cruise around and go to car shows!
