Description
Spectacular 1900-1913 Portuguese mesh evening purse in .833 silver***This frameless purse features a cinch closure that is facilitated by chains that pass through rings that line the opening. The chains terminate on each side with pull rings. A large decorative silver ball dangles from one side. 3 triangular “bibs” hang from the opening, on each side of the purse. Each bib has a small ball at the bottom of the triangle. The bottom of the purse features small decorative silver balls, however it appears that 3 are missing
Marked in at least 4 locations with the Portuguese Gondomar Second Standard (.833 fine) Boar’s Head marking that was only used from 1900-1913. The Boar’s head is paired with an unknown maker’s mark in all 4 locations. Marked on both large pull rings, one pass-through ring and a tab on the inside of the purse.
No significant holes or tears found
