Circa 1845 Dutch Cut Crystal Wedding Basket Silver Handle w Raised Floral Decoration
Item Description
Dutch silver handled cut crystal wedding basket, circa 1845. Round form basket with a lobed edge, mounted with a Dutch .833 silver handle, marked with the Lion Passant and other hallmarks that are illegible but there appears to be a makers mark. I can’t read a date letter but I have come across two other nearly identical examples, not as nice as neither have the raised floral decoration, one had a an 1841 date code and the other 1842. Measures about 13.5in diameter by 8.5in to top of handle.
